DETAILED DESCRIPTIONS OF WORKSHOPS

5th - 10th May

CELEBRATING LIFE

Life is the only enduring reality. Everything is alive with Life: throbbing, shimmering, resounding, redolent with it. Yet, how many people truly know the actual nature of Life, of the vital force and sweetness that is in every aspect of the lives they are living? The six days of this workshop are devoted to exploring and experiencing with ever greater fullness just what Life is and how to live It.

HALF LIFE
We will provide many opportunities to explore and challenge common ways of living that harm our aliveness. Most people these days seem to live half lives, or less. They are unwell, unhappy, unfulfilled. Compared to what they could experience, their lives are contracted, dull and discordant affairs. Our primary focus in this area will be on many different ways of bringing Life back into our lives, so we can live healthily, joyously and with fulfillment.

More importantly, we will practise how to strengthen ourselves in life through daily activities, meditations and other methods. To deal with the pressures of modern life, we need simple, practical and effective ways of living so it is a joy we can celebrate with each other.

LIFE IN DEATH, DEATH IN LIFE
We will also explore the way death is an expression of life when we know how to live with and through it. Throughout the ages many sages have recommended that we cultivate an awareness of death as we live. They describe it as a way of heightening our aliveness. We will do exercises and meditations to help everyone come to grips with how this can work.

Our goal in this is to help all to understand that death is a living process. This goal includes knowing how we can live fully through the many different ways of dying.

Basic questions will include:

• What is Life?
• Is your life enhancing your living?
• Is your life killing you?
• Do we die little deaths before we die?
• Do we die when we die?

CARING FOR THE BODY AND SOUL
Living as we have the potential to live involves taking care of both body and soul. During the workshop, we will pay attention to both aspects of this, particularly our souls.

To live fully we need to care well for our bodies. We need to eat, drink, exercise and rest well. We also need to take care of our feelings, and to think well so we can plan and achieve in the world. The body will thrive on these activities and orientations.

At the same time, we need Life. To experience this directly, we need to learn to live in our souls, because they provide our direct linkages to Life. Everything we do in the workshop is designed to help everyone there to realise their souls. When they have, our intention is to help them to expand their direct experience progressively. We don’t need to settle for a replica, a pale reflection or a toned down version of Life. We can participate completely in Life Itself.

Come to experience the transformations that are possible.

WORKING WITH DIFFICULT PEOPLE

Life is full of challenges. Many of us welcome the varied opportunities that they offer us, all sorts of new learning arises with taking a new job, or getting married, or having a family for example, or travelling overseas. We may not welcome some challenges, of course, even if we know that they will help us to develop as people. We find them hard to manage.

This workshop is about a common challenge in life, the challenge of coping with the people in who we find difficult. At some time or other most of us will face this. Maybe they will be family members, or perhaps people we work with, or clients, or maybe friends. Whoever they are, our lives will be easier, as we learn how to manage them, ourselves with them and the situations in which we are jointly involved.

In this workshop Elizabeth will take participants through several exercises that are designed to help promote this learning. She will also introduce a number of strategies that are simple to use and very effective. Participants will have the opportunity for questions and discussion.

Elizabeth brings over 25 years of experience in a wide variety of settings to what she does. Much of her work has been with people who have been put in the “too hard basket” by others, so she has developed many skills in handling the tougher issues with people. She and her husband, Ken, regularly come to New Zealand to run workshops such as this one and the continued high attendance at these workshops indicates the value that people place on their contributions.

PUTTING MEDITATION INTO YOUR DAILY LIFE

Meditation benefits us greatly. To experience these benefits, all we need is to do it. However, for many of us, this is easier said than done. We have good intentions, yet don’t manage to meditate regularly.

This workshop is on how to meditate and keep doing it. It deals with the common challenges of making meditation a normal part of our daily lives so that we keep experiencing the great benefits it can offer us. The workshop is designed to take everyone experientially through a process that ends with making clear plans and commitments to meditate in ways that suit us.

Beginning with an introduction to meditation for those who have not yet started, the focus then moves on to other areas, including:

  1. identifying meditations that suit us
  2. identifying incentives to meditate within our day-to- day lives
  3. working out practical reminders

Various meditations and exercises will be used. Part of the process will involve everyone finding out what meditations work well for us and finding out their various ways of not following through. We then develop plans for integrating meditation into our daily lives.

MASTERHOOD WORKSHOP

Realising "Inner" Being in the "Outer" World

Masterhood transforms our lives completely. At the same time, it does not alter the inherent simplicity that is in each of us. We become more than we ever were, expanded and fundamentally different, yet very much the same as we always have been. With masterhood, everything has meaning and beauty, everything is saturated with joy and love. Without masterhood, we tend to drift, to be lost and alone. Life without "the bubbling spring of inner abundance," has no abiding purpose or real joy.

The realisation of masterhood is the birthright of all. Come to the workshop to advance yourself in the company of others who are also committed to such awakening. You can discover and experience the unique release and fulfillment that arises as human consciousness transcends day-to-day worldliness. Elizabeth Mellor will lead this workshop and draw on her own mastery to assist all who attend.

The practices are simply, easy to use and will always yield results for those who persist. Realising the fullness of personhood is well worth any effort - leading, as it does, to our Divinity “within”. Once we are started, too, it is remarkably simple to make what we each need to keep doing a natural part of our lives. Many opportunities for questions and discussions will be available during the workshop.

COMPLETE HEALTH WORKSHOP

Spiritual, mental, emotional and physical

Complete health is something that we all want. With it we can live our lives to the full with enjoyment and success. Being healthy enables us to use our energies to fulfil ourselves, to support our families and to concentrate on improving all aspects of our lives.

Sometimes we are not in complete health. As many of us have discovered, the loss of our health highlights how important it is to stay healthy. It can be a challenge to know what to do to regain our health and when we do, to know what to do to maintain it. It is fundamentally important to learn new ways of living and then of implementing them, not simply a matter of stopping unhealthy activities.

In this workshop we will discuss very practical matters such as exercise, diet and rest, as well as the less easy subjects to tackle such as how our attitudes contribute to our health and how we can change deeply ingrained habits.

This will be done through discussion, exercises and meditations that will support the development of complete health. Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions and to have support to work out particular programmes that will support their individual needs.

HEALING - WORKSHOP FOR HEALERS

The capacity to heal is part of the gift of life. Every mother who kisses her child’s bump or bruise better, knows this instinctively. We are all healers.

This workshop is for those who want to enhance their natural healing abilities and develop the capacity to make the healing processes they use more conscious. There will be discussion, practice and a unique opportunity to be attuned into beginning levels of the Biame Era Reiki system.

Elizabeth’s down to earth approach is supported by her long standing spiritual practice. This practice also contributes to her deep understanding of fundamental healing processes.

May 2006

TRAINING DAY WITH ELIZABETH

These training days are part of Biame Network's training program. Each is a wonderful opportunity to discuss issues and ask questions for yourself. In response, Elizabeth will teach various techniques, meditations and ways of understanding things that are part of that program. There is much to learn and this is an opportunity to do the learning.

Even if your personal questions are not answered directly, everything discussed is potentially useful and transforming to all present. In addition, it is a chance to spend a full day bathing in the benefits of Elizabeth's awakened fields.

OPEN MEDITATION EVENINGS

Group at a Meditation NightThese evenings are for anyone who is interested in meditation. Elizabeth will give talks on various aspects of meditation. She will also introduce or initiate people into Mantra Meditation, a very simple and powerful form of meditation. She is a very experienced Master of Meditation and spiritual mentor who has introduced thousands of people to meditation. Usually very entertaining, simply spending time with them is often an awakening experience because of the impact of their own awakening on others.

Please contact the organiser for the area in which the open meditation evening is listed. You will find it below the workshop information, which you can access by clicking on the title of the workshop in the short list at the top of this page.
