EARTH TO BEYOND MEDITATION

Two very powerful meditations are available on this recording.  Both can have profound effects.

They can help you to experience greater fullness through encouraging you to access aspects of yourself that are different from your previous experience.  Each meditation guides you to concentrate on your own experiences in ways that will help you to draw on your awareness of the world to experience “The Beyond”.

“The Beyond” is to do with those aspects of ourselves that are beyond space and time, beyond normal sensory experience.  The meditation helps us to experience parts of these dimensions that are especially rewarding and pleasurable to many people.  In “The Beyond” we can experience great serenity, security, transparency, quietness, harmony, and sweetness.

In “The Beyond” we can lose sense of time and of space, yet remain exquisitely aware of all we are experiencing.  We seem to participate in a direct experience of Being and find fundamental nourishment there.  This can change us deeply.

We can find a profound sense of inner peace and certainty starts to pervade our lives.  Old issues that used to intrude regularly and disruptively can dissolve.  We can face the future, looking ahead with new confidence and enjoying revisiting “The Beyond” regularly through using the recording.

The two meditations on this recording make a unique contributions to our Awakening.  They are worth practising repeatedly.  Each time we repeat them, we are likely to find the benefits consolidating in direct experience and in our outer lives generally.

The Seven Centres of Meditation
Swami Krishna Gautam brought this meditation to Australia in 1980.  The version on this recording is an adaptation of his.  He regarded Vedic Mantra Meditation as a primary road to awakening.  He used to teach The Seven Centres Meditation next, because of its very great further contribution to awakening.

The instructions get you to concentrate on each of our seven major energy centres in turn.  Some people call these chakras.  We start with the base of the spine and move up through the successive centres until we reach the crown of the head.  With each centre we concentrate on turning into different natural elements in the world.

The sequence is as follows:

CENTER LOCATION IN SPINE EARTHLY STATE
BASE COCCYX OF SPINE SOLID
SEX FOUR FINGER'S
WIDTHS ABOVE
BASE
LIQUID
NAVEL HEIGHT OF NAVEL FIRE
HEART HEIGHT OF HEART WIND
(Air in Motion)
NECK HALFWAY UP NECK SKY
AJNA TOP OF NECK ETHER
(Lightening)
CROWN TOP OF HEAD THE BEYOND

As we move up the spine, the states on which we meditate become increasingly refined and less dense.  By the time we reach the top of the head, the aim is to launch out beyond the body into “The Beyond”.

The final step involves returning to normal worldly awareness, while retaining awareness from each of the seven states experienced during the meditation.  Our daily lives can be greatly enriched by these experiences.

ONENESS IN ALL THAT IS
This meditation comes from a Master who used to live in an ashram called Sukhchar.  It was located near Calcutta in India.  Although he left his physical life in 1993, this and other meditations he taught while he was physically alive are a wonderful legacy for many people.  He was a very simple man of profound awakening whom everyone called Thakur.  His official name was Sri Sri Thakur Balak Brahmachari Maharaj.

He taught the steps of this meditation to a group of Australian visitors that included Ken and Elizabeth Mellor.  He taught one step per year for seven years, so the meditation was only completed seven years after he started it.

The instructions move us through a natural sequence of Awakening.  Starting with grounding and Mantra Repetition, we then move to focussing or concentrating the Mantra between our eyebrows.  This leads to a dissolving, brightening, intensifying experience that spreads throughout our physical forms.  As this progresses, we move into a blue vastness, a space with infinite dimensions.  Dissolving into this and remaining suspended there, we begin to notice a horizon in front of us off in the distance.  The sun rises - originally a deep red, it becomes whiter and more brilliant as it rises in the sky.  Eventually it is high above us and draws us up into it.  We become one with the sun, the source of all.  Finally, in a state of complete oneness with the sun in which we radiate life in all directions, we affirm  "I AM All That Is".  As we affirm this, we realise that this is true.  The final step involves our returning to awareness of the physical world while retaining a sense of the other states that we have experienced during the meditation.
