COMPLETE HEALTH MEDITATION
General Information

Complete health comes from a state of physical, emotional, mental and spiritual balance. The Complete Health Meditation on this recording is designed to help us achieve this balance. It does so by enabling us to cultivate healthful attitudes and approaches that contribute health to the way we think, feel and act in our lives. The meditation is a powerful way for us to support, to achieve, to maintain, or to recover complete health.

Benefitting from the Meditation

Whatever health issues you are facing, we invite you to try this approach and test its possible benefits directly for yourself. Many conditions seem responsive to the meditation.

  • You can use it with anything from serious to trivial problems. For example, you can use it to help with anything from a cold or the flu, through to life threatening conditions, such as cancer or heart disease.
People have found help with both acute and chronic conditions. The meditation can help you to deal with something that arises quickly and without warning. It can help also with conditions that have persisted over many years.
Your feelings, your thinking, and your body, are all affected by the meditation. You can contribute significantly to the solution of problems in any of these areas. While you will notice that the instructions mainly concentrate on your body, you can add your own instructions, affirmations and ideas as you go through the meditation. You choose these to help you to deal with the particular area of your life that you particularly need to change.
The meditation can help support many different types of treatment. In general, it can help people in preparing for treatment procedures, or in recovering after them. Many people have commented that they seemed to handle treatment better and to recover more quickly than expected, when they had used the meditation regularly.
It similarly can assist in recovery from accidents. Both patients and doctors have reported unexpectedly higher than normal rate of recovery after some physically traumatic events.
Natural rejuvenation processes can be stimulated by the meditation. By using your own affirmations relating to youthfulness, vigour and aliveness, you can encourage these qualities to play a part in your life.
  • Used regularly, say at least weekly, even when you are well, the meditation is a powerful general health practice. Using it just as you might exercise regularly, or eat well, to promote your health, you can promote continued health and well-being in your life.

Understanding YOUR Health
As you become increasingly familiar with the meditation, you may discover many interesting and helpful things about your health and the way your approach it. Several are included here:

  • The meditation is a simple, practical way to promote health. It provides a way of harnessing the link between your attitudes and your health. It can help you tap into the immense health-promoting and healing power within your system.
The "right" attitudes can make a big difference to your health. People have achieved all sorts of wonderful results through harnessing this link. They have discovered how rapidly major improvements in health can occur after changing their attitudes.
The meditation is a powerful method for reshaping your attitudes to your health. When people need to make changes, simply understanding the value of this need is not enough. They need to know how to make the changes, to know the steps to take. Those who are unwell can experience this acutely. Many feel desperate about their need to make changes, but do not know how to go about doing so. The meditation offers a way of doing this.
By providing something for you to do, the meditation enables you to participate actively in promoting your health and well-being. What a relief it is, when we have something we can do immediately. We then do not have to wait for others to act before we start to contribute to our own healing. We can take responsibility for ourselves and get started immediately, as well as continuing to support the healing efforts of others as our treatment programs unfold. We no longer have to rely completely for our recoveries on the efforts of others.
  • Whether prompted to use the meditation by general hopes or concerns, or by specific needs, persistence and repetition build a healthy momentum. Through cultivating attitudes that promote what you want, you are seeking to influence your body and its related processes. These are considerably "denser" than the thinking that goes with your attitudes, so you are likely to need to persist to build the necessary "momentum" in your body and its processes. It is a little like using a small spoon to get water flowing in a circle inside a large bowl. At the beginning, the spoon may not seem to have much effect, however, persistence and repetition of the same movement produces the desired result. And once the water is moving well, it takes very little effort to keep it moving.

Getting the BEST Results

Several guidelines are of value, particularly if you need to use the meditation repeatedly.

  • Notice small changes, as well as large ones. Doing so reinforces the changes you are making. What we notice we tend to get in life and the big changes are usually made up of many small ones. For example, moving a little more easily, even if it is only just noticeable, is an improvement. Noticing the change reinforces a change in your attitude and helps you to cultivate even more change.
Take the necessary time; make the necessary number of repetitions. Some health issues could respond very quickly to your use of the meditation. Immediate and complete change has occurred. With some conditions, particularly those that are long-standing, persistence usually brings rewards. Many who have persisted have experienced spectacular successes, some that confounded the predictions of medical experts.
When you can fantasise your complete health immediately, easily, fully and with certainty, you are close to realising your health. Continued difficulties in having the fantasy of health, indicates the continued presence of "inner" obstacles to realising actual health. Repeating the meditation can helps you to dissolve your "inner" obstacles and release the energy that was bound up in them.
Accept any feelings, thoughts, worries, prejudices, memories, physical symptoms and other experiences that arise. These may arise, sometimes very intensely. This is a normal and healing part of the change process that the meditation encourages. With practice, you can discover how helpful it is to you to accept these experiences in the way that the meditation teaches you to accept them. Doing the meditation encourages you to affirm and claim health. The activities in the meditation interrupt the patterns that have inadvertently reinforced your health problems. By staying grounded as you experience whatever arises, something the meditation teaches you to do, you can release the energy and resolve the issues more easily. This usually contributes to increased health.
Very ill people who cannot move around, or cannot concentrate for long, can still do the meditation. Several simple variations are helpful. While the instructions say to move physically at times, those who cannot do so, still can benefit from the meditation, because much of the meditation is to do with changing attitudes and movement is not central to this process. Only part of the meditation need be played to those who cannot concentrate for long enough to go all the way to the end. Simply select so that the person hears the important tracks and leave out the rest. Also, playing it repeatedly beside people, whether or not they are conscious or actively participating, seems to have helped many.
Notice how change can come into all areas of your life. The benefits of the meditation can help people change more than their bodies, feelings and thoughts. As a result of using it, people often seem more alert to and aware of various options available around them that will or could help their recoveries, for example, suggestions others make, articles reporting some aspect of treatment, or picking up a book unexpectedly. We recommend that you notice these events, investigate them, and think of them as signs of success, even in the absence of other apparent changes.
  • Share the experience of health and your healthful expectations. Sharing anything intensifies its effect on those doing the sharing. So it is well worthwhile sharing your healthful hopes, dreams, aspirations, experiences, expectations and activities. If people do not do this spontaneously with you, you can train them to do it by letting them know the value of doing so and by welcoming their efforts when they do.

Using the Recording
Fun to do, this simple meditation is optimistic and lighthearted and you can easily include it in your day. The meditation itself takes about half an hour and a good idea is to set aside that amount of time to do it. However, if you do not have enough time, you can get great benefit from playing it in the background, or from playing it while doing things like driving the car, or washing the dishes, or from playing it beside the bed as you go to sleep at night.
The recording is divided into two sections. The first is a 30 minute introduction and discussion of the very strong links between our attitudes and our health. The second, which is a little over 30 minutes in length, is the meditation. It is a step by step procedure for harnessing the power of the links discussed in the first track, so we may promote the health we want in our lives. It is important that you listen to the General Introduction before doing the meditation. People have found that it is helpful to replay the introduction occasionally, as doing so reinforces the value of the meditation and can deepen your understanding of the information the General Introduction contains.
